The brief
The flat had good bones and bad flow: five small rooms, a dark corridor and a kitchen that faced a wall. Our client wanted room to work from home, space for a growing child — and a home that felt calm rather than new.

The approach
We removed two non-structural walls to pull courtyard light into the living space, kept the original oak floors and plaster cornices, and drew one long joinery wall that hides storage, a desk and the pantry.

Room by room.
Three rooms that changed the most — and why.

A desk and a clay shelf behind sliding oak doors — closed off when the day is done.
